Our Mission
Through litigation and community advocacy, Fair Fight Initiative exposes mistreatment in the law enforcement system and works to end mass incarceration.
We at the Fair Fight Initiative would like to thank you for your vital assistance and generous contributions to our 501(c)(3) organization. With your help, we are making progress toward a more equitable future, one where police brutality does not go unpunished, where government misconduct and mass incarceration are banished to the history books and where our criminal justice system operates fairly and equally for all.
Your support is already creating so much positive change. Thanks to you, we were able to take action against judges in Baton Rouge Louisiana that restored the rights of thousands of detainees to pretrial bail and reunited families.
We are taking legal action against profiteering medical providers who are reaping a windfall while giving inadequate care to detained individuals.
We funded the defense of two young men who were to be tried as adults, sparing them the threat of incarceration in a hardened prison in Mississippi.
We are championing the cause of Oriel Selver, a young woman in South Georgia who fell victim to an attempted sexual assault by a prominent prosecutor and could not seek justice among the “good old boys” criminal legal system.
We pulled together a coalition of community activists and national partners to develop the Freedom Campaign with the goal of reducing unconscionably high jail populations In Louisiana.
We scoured public records to identify over 7000 cases brought by prosecutors even though the corrupt Baton Rouge narcotics division were witnesses, and will soon file motions to vacate the sentences in scores of cases.
The need for the vital work we do together has never been greater. But we are making progress. We are leveling the playing field of a broken criminal justice system. With your donations, we are building toward an end to these abusive and unjustified practices.
We are doing all of this with your help, but there is always room for more champions of justice like yourself. If you would like to spread the word about our organization, please consider sharing our link on social media, or sign up for your own fundraising page.
Thank you again for your generous support and sharing our commitment to making our country a better place. We’re profoundly grateful.
